Debuted in racing at the age of 21 in 1986.

Joined Toyota Team Cerumo in 1996 and made a remarkable achievement by winning in his first-ever GT500 race.

Participated in the Super Taikyu endurance series with SHIFT's maintenance support as a development driver for FALKEN Tires. Achieved an unprecedented feat by winning the Super Taikyu championship title for five consecutive years from 1997.

In 2001, won the GT500 class championship, becoming the first driver in history to claim series championship in two different categories.

Became the CEO of SHIFT Co., Ltd. in 2007.

Served as team director for Toyota Cerumo INGING in 2008-2009.

Since 2013, has been operating 86RACER'S in collaboration with Fuji Speedway to promote and expand the motorsports industry.
